Sample Itinerary

Weekday Schedule

Each day will build on the previous day’s schedule.

6:15-6:45am
Meditation – Practice mindfulness and balance.
7:00-7:30am
Yoga Workouts – Build balance for joint mobility and stability! Workouts are optional, but participants who complete all 5 workout days receive a SURVIVOR Retreat t-shirt.
8:00-8:45am
Breakfast – Prepared by the on-camp chef.
8:45-9:30am
Intro to Qigong & Tai Chi – Learn meditative techniques for aligning mind, body and soul.
9:30-10:30am
Afro-Cuban Movement (Male Orishas) – Learn body isolations, rumba and Afro-Cuban fundamentals.
10:30am-11:30am
Afro-Cuban Movement (Female Orishas) – Learn body isolations, rumba and Afro-Cuban fundamentals. Intro to Capoeira will be happening at the same time, so attendees will be able to choose between the two.
11:30am-12:30pm
Music Fundamentals – This class will be more of the theoretical side of the music.
12:30-1:30pm
Lunch – Prepared by the on-camp chef.
1:30-2:30pm
Beach/Siesta – Beach is a 5-min walk from camp!
Or Take Privates, Massage, Practice on site.
2:30-3:30pm
Music Technique – This class will be building on proper form with hand posture, maintaining time and steady tempo, and gaining proper tonality
3:30-4:30pm
Music Technique/Application/Execution – This is where the student will get to fully play and apply everything they’re learning through all the music classes (more of a Jam Session).
4:30-5:00pm
Cool Down/Videotape – Stretch and videotape what was taught throughout the day.
5:00-5:30pm
Practice – Practice or free time.
5:30-6:30pm
Dinner – Prepared by the on-camp chef.
6:30-8:00pm
Free Time
8:00-9:00pm
Hot Chocolate Hour – Special group lectures and discussions each day.
9:00PM AND ON:
Free Time -Break and enjoy the camp!

Schedule is subject to change. During free times, you are welcome to practice on your own in the studio (unlimited access at any time of day), visit the beach, play some basketball, lounge on the camp swings, or just relax.
