About The Advanced Training Session

“The training for people…who think training and working hard is fun.” --Aaron

Masacote is offering a 2-hour intensive training session on Wednesday nights with Aaron and the Masacote Coaches.

Come prepared to work your butt off and seriously uplevel your dance.

This is a training for people who want to launch their dance to the next level. Be ready to work hard, sweat, laugh and train, train, train. Each session will be full of drills, techniques, choreographies, insights and surprises.

This is the type of training Masacote dancers would receive before lighting the stage up performing an iconic Masacote choreography.

What you will work on:

Spin drills

Body isolations

Afro-cuban movement

Strength, conditioning and stamina

Footwork routines

Musicality and timing

Learn and dissect sections of Masacote’s legacy choreographies

and more.

Mark your calendar! The dates for training with Aaron are Oct 9, Oct 23, Nov 6, Nov 20, Dec 4, Dec 18

Practice training session with a rotating roster of Masacote coaches on Wednesdays: Oct 16, Oct 30, Nov 13, Nov 27, Dec 11.

Why? Training takes consistency and practice. This will give you a chance to consistently train, practice and engage with what Aaron teaches.

Practice training sessions will:

-Create consistency and momentum in your dance practice

-Expand on the material presented by Aaron

-Provide a fresh twist and perspective

-Additional review and practice of material Aaron presented

-Keep the pace fast and ready for as much new material as possible

-Maximize your training time and opportunity

-Each week will be led by a different Masacote Coach with their unique strengths and style

The training will be focused around the curriculum presented by Aaron, inspired by professional-level Masacote dance training.

IMPORTANT DETAILS:

This is the fine print but you need to read it this before you sign up.

***This class is by invitation only. Proficiency in the material in Masacote School Stage 2 and above is required.

If you have not been pre-approved and want to try out:

1.     Email us and let us know you’re interested!

2.     Come to the first class. Your first class will include an assessment of your skills and level to ensure this class is a good fit for you.

3.     There will be a standardized assessment form that the instructors will fill out and go over with you after class.

4.     If we determine it is not the right fit we will make recommendations for alternative training opportunities and a time frame when Aaron’s training would be advantageous to you.

The class will be fast-paced, intense, and demanding, mentally and physically. This is for the serious dancer. It requires a certain foundational knowledge for it to be worthwhile. The last thing we would want is for you to invest in something that will not serve you.

Aaron Damus is a former principal dancer with Masacote, founding instructor of Masacote Dance School and a formally trained musician. He has over 20 years of experience teaching and dancing.
